Hi all.  Just to let you know that I'll no longer be visiting this wonderfully helpful and supportive place. I came in here when my elderly Mum was having huge problems with her neighbours, and the EH were worse than useless.  Just as the sale of her house was going through, and the buyers' solicitor started wanting details of the noise problem, the noisy neighbours were moved out by the landlord, not for being noisy, but because they'd fallen behind with their rent, and they'd trashed the place. When the new tenants moved in, they had a house warming party, and Mum went next door to ask them to keep the noise down a bit. The landlord was there, and came into her house to listen. He now understands just how noise is amplified by laminate flooring, and is arranging for carpet.

But it doesn't matter anymore, because last week, Mum moved over to the Isle of Wight, just across the road from us. She's moved from a mid-terrace house in noisy suburbia to a detached bungalow surrounded by farmland. She was sad to leave her house of 60+ years, but is so excited to be living here now. I just wish it could be so for all of you troubled people - not that you necessarily move to the countryside, but that you get the peace you all deserve and are entitled to.  So, thank you all for your support and friendship. A special thank you to Laurence for starting this forum, and for allowing me the privilege of being a moderator. I hope I did an ok job - it's now in the hands of very worthy people.
