Topic: mid terrace noisy neighbours
I don’t even know where to begin. We moved into a mid terraced house 18 months ago. Boy what a mistake.
It started with all night parties every weekend. So we went over and asked them to keep it down...same thing happened following weekend and so on. After 6 weeks we complained to the housing association who told them to pipe down, apparently they had been moved due to noise already. Eventually the guy moves out ... total bliss.. little did we know this was the calm before the storm.
New guy moves in couple of months before xmas last year and from the start, we got the cold shoulder. Which is no big deal to us. Then January came as did the door slamming and playing dominoes with the kitchen cupboards, this happened day and night when we were home, not when we were out.. how do I know? I have a daughter who told me.
One evening it got to us and we gave them a blast of music see how they like it, from 8pm to 10pm. For that I get my car vandalised, and guess what, no noise for 2 whole weeks. Before you ask no the police didn’t charge him cos we didn’t actually see him do it. Only heard them.
Then it started again doors/cupboards.. banging at night. Rubbish being chucked in the garden. So we reported them to the housing association again, I think they got a warning letter.
At the same time all this was happening new kids moved in to the block and they weren’t any better, parties every weekend, shouting/swearing arguments, vomiting in the street, chucking rubbish where they stood. Van loads coming and going. Then one night they rammed our car causing £1500 damaged. called Police and guess what they never got charged with the collision or the damage. Where’s the justice in that? So as you can imagine both neighbours are now best friends!
I complained yet again to the housing Association, and they tried to persuade me not to complain. So I put it in writing. I also got in touch with ASBO officer (never knew they exsisted) Things got worse with the second lot, verbal abuse at home and on the street, loud parties. Called the police for the noise. Now that gave me pleasure because they didn’t see the police jeep coming and it was really really loud music.
Anyway got my car fixed after 6 months and the neighbours were not happy! They stomped and banged and shouted etc.
Guess what happens when you stand up to them??………… that’s right you get arrested for breach of the peace. Ironic isn’t it!
Now i have cctv and a nice big floodlight to make them glow in the dark.
It’s going to get worse before it gets better! just wish we’d get transferred to a new place. It’s affecting us all hollistally.
