Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

Thank you Mac and Pandora, means a lot. As I must say reading the previous comments about me being unsympathetic, smug and childish made me feel kinda low.

Yes I have got some help from my council and my noisy neighbours are being dealt with, but I think posting such results give others hope that something may be done to resolve their situation. It is not me being smug. My situation is better than it was, but I doubt it is over.

Matt Cardle won the x factor last year, he released the cover version of Biffy's 'Maid of Honour' song. The originial is quiet good, bit edgy, indie like. The x factor rip off is hideous and it is what my neighbour plays on repeat for up to 5 times a go...And you're showing your age Mac, I only know because my mate was obsessed with x factor and I was upset they released such a song! xx

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

Mac - unanswered questions always, sourcing information is more important... the passing of information from unsuspecting individuals who provide it in the belief that someone appears "incredibly supportive" is the disgraceful part.

It has a damaging and devasting effect on those people when it turns up in the wrong hands!

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

hehe Mac, I honestly meant to say you werent showing your age!!! Oops sorry!!! xxx

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

Nothing wrong with cosy nights in!!! I shall be getting home, putting pjs on and lounging on sofa most of the night watching tv! no need for slippers, the flat is warm enough as it is and am not a smoker so no pipe needed!!!

And I say you are still lovely! x

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

Hello,

Still waiting for the recording equipment....

The man from the housing came to visit us and the neighbours were noisy as he was there.

And the most shocking thing that has come from this visit is that the council have received letters from their solicitor accusing US of harassment. I am totally gobsmacked.

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

Hello Tired-Man,

I am so ***** you have this on your head ( I am a Lady).  Unfounded allegations are a retaliation that only adds insult to injury and can muddy the waters.  It is bourne out of malice and further harassment, both of which are criminal offences.

Please don't despair....this really and truly is a common tactic.

(Also comes under my list of Profiles as a 4)

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

Noisy neighbours will lie once they are caught out to take the heat away from them. These counter complaints are usually proven to be in retaliation, so dont worry about it too much! x

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

Tired Man,

You got me thinking what HE could say in unfounded retaliation against me, which is better to prepare for....
There's my cats...one of whom gained access and got stuck in the mynah bird cage in alleged offence of premeditated "take-away".
Or he could attempt to imply I have a lot of gentlemen callers....which I do....Argos, Sainsburys (2 men) NTL,
Gas Fitter and Annual Service Engineer, plus friend who stayed over New Year, plus Elderly Family Friend, plus delivery drivers when I went book shopping at christmastime on Amazon... 39 Books, lot of deliveries!!!

The mind reels.....

What did the people from housing say to both the noise and the harrasement bit?

In a nutshell:
That he'll make a note of what he's heard, the equipment shouldn't be too long and that he wouldn't like to live here and that's there's a lot of red tape to go through.

As for the harassment, he said he's had a look at his records and he sees we've no history or any complaints.

I forgot to say that they're also accusing the man from housing of harrassment.

"it is always someone elses fault not mine" is exactly how they behave. They think they're a "victim" of this world and the world is against them but the reality is far from it. They are all too willing to turn a blind eye to their own actions.

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

Hello it's me again.

We had the recording equipment from Thursday to Tuesday. They were mostly quiet, we did get quite a bit of noise though. They were not in the flat at all on the Friday and Saturday, there lights were off.

Today, we recieved a letter stating that she was called into a meeting on that Thursday morning about her noise. We have since found out that she was warned that she was going to be recorded!!!

I did actually joke to a friend that they'd probably been warned, I was joking.

I am gobsmacked.

Please tell me that this is not common practice to warn them before hand as I find it ludicrous.

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

Surly pre warning them will mean they will reduce noise. i wonder is there a requirement that they MUST be pre informed. Surly not.

Hi Tired & Jaytee,

It is normal practise to inform a potential nuisance source that recording might be used but not when. I would be surprised if this was the case and if so it is extremely bad practise since it is self defeating.

I would be shocked if this was the case since the housing have themselves been accused of harrasement.

Tired,

I would be inclined to write a letter saying that something along the lines of:

I was surprised to learn that you had invited my neighbour in for a meeting on the day of the monitoring equipment being installed and telling her the equipment was being installed.

I understand that it is normal practise for such information to be confirmed in writing and at the time of the perpetrator being made aware of the receipt of a complaint.

One could also assume that it would perhaps be better if the perpetrator was called in after the recording so that more concrete evidence can be laid in front of them.

I would be grateful if you could arrange for the equipment to be installed after a period of time which allows for any possibility of the perpetrator going quiet after being notified of the equipment being installed. Such an installation should be covertly installed and under the guidance of RIPA.

In addition I would be grateful if the nuisance witnessed on XX/XX/XXXX by your officer would be considered to be a nuisance?

For the avoidance of doubt this is not a formal complaint but a formal request for the reinstallation without the perpetrator being notified.

Hope thats okay. Change any bits you want to or if you have any questions do ask.

Regards
Mac

Thanks a lot.

Also seeing an MP with a neighbour on the bottom floor within the next week.

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

TiredMan,

Was glad you returned but NOT with your news. Where I lived before, and E.H. installed sound equipment, and the perpetrator and his friends arrived back....he said " sshh, she's GOT sound equipment " NOT  "she may have".

He also stayed away from his flat for the majority of the time I had it, so I had peace, but NO evidence, and after it was taken away....he was back with his friends and goodbye PEACE.

It makes you feel TOTALLY  beyond despair.   hmm  sad  neutral

Re: Neighbours From Hell Above Me, Council letting us down.

I think this will make for interesting reading  neutral

Tired man,

I have heard everything now, the baby dropping it's  toy!!!

I too have lost  a lot of time trying to work out what the nosie is. i have even gone to the extreme of trying to act out what i believe it to be just to arrive at a possible answer.
