When we had ours fitted we tried to stay as quiet as possible to make their noise more obvious? obviously try to get them to place the equipment in the room nearest the noise so it will pick it up as best as possible? also when the EH team have gone make sure the Mic is facing in the direction of your neighbours as some mics only pick up noise from one direction. And yeah they may go quiet as they will no doubt receive a letter warning them they may be recorded? (try asking the EH team if they have sent one out (they have to to meet human rights laws i have been told?)

We have had two types, the first was about the size of a large brief case, the second was one of the latest models and was a lot smaller.  We put ours in our bedroom (under NN living room) which is where most of the noise happens.

Make sure you get a copy of the recordings, demand them in need be and also ask for them to be given to you in a format you can hear, ours were in some weird wave format that needed a specialist programme downloaded in order to hear them, we had difficulties transferring then into a mp3 format even with the help of a techie so have now sent them back for the LA sound techie to convert for us.  We also got a written report from the ASB officer detailing what she had heard on the tape.  The only thing we are now waiting for is the letter from the H.O saying what they are going to do about the noise, still we have only had to wait 3 months so far!!!  It will be here next week....next week......next week..... I had mine in, they said it picked up banging and thudding but not the loud voices which is surprising because an ancient camcorder has picked it up.  All classed as living noise, no written break down and no copy, put in covertly so they are refusing to give me a copy.  My camcorder has picked up more I think. They have classed everything as living noise.  Sorry it was installed now, they have used it to say there has been no problem here for eight months

yeah, and the traffic leaves and goes quieter at night! Idiots!

Mine was loud enough to keep me up several nights until 4am, I could even here how many people were upstairs and whether they were male or female but it's all been dismissed.  The councils antisocial team just said living noise, no one else I know could live with if  

Guys go back and DEMAND a copy of the tapes, they are your evidence of noise if you have to go down the route of taking the NN to court yourself.  Yes it may be living noise but if it is late at night it is a nusience.
