Topic: Spam!

Hello everyone

You'll have noticed that the forum has become subject to a lot of spam over the last few weeks, moreso than usual - this is because the service that it was using to filter it out, called Akismet, has become chargeable and so it has stopped working.

I'm looking at other options for plugins which might stem the tide - please bear with me!

Right, I've upgraded the forum software and added in some new features to try to tackle the spam. Whether this is effective or not will become clear over the next few days.

Glad you found it!

It's been more than 12 hours and there doesn't seem to have been any spam postings or registrations, fingers crossed we're in the clear!

when I log in, the boxes to put in username and password are teeeeny tiny!!! and they overlap each other. anyone else having these issues?

Which web browser are you using? I haven't done any extensive testing since the forum upgrade, so let me know and I'll try to sort it out.

its not a massive issue hun, I managed to navigate it! am using IE 7...would a screen shot help?

No need, I see the problem.. will try to sort it asap!

Btw (with my web developer hat on) I'd strongly recommend you upgrade to something newer (ideally either Firefox or Chrome - they're both much better and faster and can support cool whizzy bits on modern websites!).
