If nothing else it's a great instruction manual on how not to do things!
Can't believe the result of the first episode - the girl who went was the only one in that sub-team who seemed to be taking the initiative in making sales, but the others just bleated on about how she was 'stealing their sales'. Why it didn't occur to them that they could all sell the stuff simultaneously escapes me.
Watching it as I have pretty much since the second series, there have been very few times when I've thought one of them has made a 'business' decision which I thought took genuine 'business acumen' (as they always say) above and beyond standard common sense. Many of their mistakes are so basic I can't see how they've got onto the show - but then I suppose the point of it is to make good telly, not to show us the real business genuises out there - because they'll all be getting on actually making businesses and walking the walk rather than buffing up their fragile egos on a reality show.
Still, it's compelling stuff!!
Yep folks, it's that time of year again. The Apprentice starts tonight on BBC1 at 9pm.
I've had a bit of a love-hate relationship with it over the years - some series have been great but others have been utter dross, and they seem to be catering more and more for the outrageous reality-TV angle than anything remotely entrepreneurial. It's fun to see some colossal egos cut down to size, though.. definitely good television.

Sorry Minx, I had disabled the ability to show images a while ago when we were being subjected to loads of pornographic spam. Now that spam is less of an issue I've re-enabled images, so post to your heart's content!

I've never been able to watch One Born Every Minute - am a bit squeamish! iPlayer's fantastic - another reason the TV license is worth it!
At the moment I'm really into Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead (both from an American channel called AMC). BB is about a chemistry teacher diagnosed with terminal lung cancer who takes to 'cooking' crystal meth to provide for his family after his death. It's really brilliant. TWD is about, well, zombies. It started out really well - better than many Hollywood treatments of the subject - but it has got a little slow now, but the last episode give some hints that things might be picking up. It's got Andrew Lincoln in it (remember Egg from This Life?). Bizarre that I dont like watching babies being born but watching zombies eat people is okay!
Hi everyone
We've managed to build up a good little community here, and I see that a few users have gotten to know each other well over some great discussions about noisy neighbours. It seems only right, therefore, that we expand the site to include an area for other, "off-topic" chats, so here it is!
I like to imagine that a veranda is a place a person can enjoy their garden without any interference from their neighbours.. so let's imagine this forum is a respite from the bad experiences discussed over on the Experiences forum. It's always helpful to be distracted, even if just for a little while, from the noise our neighbours make!
This forum's for any sort of discussion on any topic (within the realms of the forum policy, of course). Feel free to have a banter and get your mind off your neighbours for a bit.

Yes if you're getting abusive PMs I can ban the person involved, but unfortunately the software doesn't (at present) allow for selective blocking of other users.

Just www.noisyneighbours.net, that's all that needs to be typed into the browser's address bar.
What are you seeing when you enter that?

No need, I see the problem.. will try to sort it asap!
Btw (with my web developer hat on) I'd strongly recommend you upgrade to something newer (ideally either Firefox or Chrome - they're both much better and faster and can support cool whizzy bits on modern websites!).

Which web browser are you using? I haven't done any extensive testing since the forum upgrade, so let me know and I'll try to sort it out.

It's been more than 12 hours and there doesn't seem to have been any spam postings or registrations, fingers crossed we're in the clear!
Right, I've upgraded the forum software and added in some new features to try to tackle the spam. Whether this is effective or not will become clear over the next few days.
