Topic: Why can't all these selfish people live in the same street, same town?

If only there was a way to make all these selfish people live in the same street; the same town, in fact.  That way they can all annoy each other and leave the rest of us alone.

It seems that (more often than not, with a few exceptions) the  less money people have, the more inconsiderate they are.  Why is that?

The better the area people live in, the quieter and more respectable it appears.  Of course, there are exceptions, as I said.

One exception, is my neighbour.  We live at the end of a cul-de-sac, which was once a sought after area.  She moved in about 20 months ago - I forget now - and we have to listen to her and her son playing the piano whenever they feel like it, we have to listen to her boy playing his drums whenever he feels like it (though she had promised it would only be for an hour each thursday at 5:30) and they do this with the doors and windows open so that we get the full benefit of their racket.  Oh, and in the summer we get band practices! With all the doors and windows open, of course.

She has to slam her front door because it is broken, but I'm sure the back door isn't, and neither are her car doors...but they get slammed as well.  The dog barks at us as soon as it hears or sees us.

Her visitors ignore the free parking spaces and plenty of other acceptable place they could park and park where they like; especially just where it inconveniences us.  I asked one woman not to park 'there' and she looked at me like I was from the moon.

She conducts music lessons at home and we have to listen to torturous attempts at violin playing.

All of this and we are not even a semi!!!  We are link detatched.

When the previous neighbour moved they left their full bins on the pavement ready for the next collection.  They are STILL sitting on the pavement, and she will not move them.  When I spoke to her about them all she has done is oush them further along to the corner house!

The corner house rent, and they leave their bins out, too.  As soon as they go on the 10th, my other neighbour and I are going round there to put all the bins and collection boxes in the back garden, which the house owner always did.

We were hoping to shame the woman into moving the bins, but it all went right over her head.

I told her it not only looked like a tip and looked bloody awful, but was lowering the value of everyone's properties, including her owm.

It's got to the stage now where I hate her and I want her out.

I've had worse neighbours than this, but I'm at a time of my life now where I want peace and quiet, which is why we chose to live there.

I totally agree put them all in the same place and let them knock ten bells out of each other. That is the only way to deal with people like that they do not have the mentality to understand what morals and values are they cannot reason, so put them with like minded who will just go in fist first.
I would pay to see my neighbour get smacked!

Tinman, I'm puzzled.  Why have you not done anything to sort out the noise situation, unless you have but not commented on it here?  You live in a cul-de-sac, as I do, therefore noise will be 'contained' more than in an 'open' street.  Band practicesd particularly, are likely  be frowned upon, as they might be construed as 'performing' and, anyway, are hardly one person practising! You have a very convincing reasons (so have other neighbours who are having to endure this noise) to complain to the local council's Environmental Health Dept. You obviously have at least one other neighbour who doesn't like the inconsiderate way they behave, so for goodness sake, get together and make an official complaint! If you want to be 'nice' about it, write the noisy ones a letter first, but do COMPLAIN, if they don't improve their behaviour! 

As far as the rubbish bins are concerned, if they're blocking the road or the pavement, they are acting illegally, I think you'll find, something else the council can do something about - probably the Highways Dept. As far as the parking's concerned, unless they are blocking your entrance or exit, then I'm afraid that's something you may have to tolerate. Unless you have a parking place marked 'Disabled', as marked by the council, no one has a right to a parking place right outside their house - sad but true. DO something about it, don't just complain on here.

I agree with ANH, Tinman. Actually, I find that the reverse is often true; some with lots of money tend to think they can do what they want, BUT both are great generalisations, and you won't make any friends talking that way.  One of the reasons many folk come on here is that they have very little (or no) money to take legal action against their noisy neighbours, which goes back to my previous post. If you have the finances, then you should find it even easier to get something done - go to a solicitor and get legal advice!

I'm with kerry, I would like to see all the nuisance neighbours living in the same street, and yes I would gladly pay to see my neighbour get knocked out, i'm considering doing it myself..
