Topic: Revenge

If the noisy neighbours are under 25 and you're older, you might be able to use your hi-fi to get them back.

This is probably reckless and inadvisable, but I just wanted to put this out because I don't often have good ideas.  Feel free to shoot me down in flames.

Try this website to get an idea of the frequencies of sound you can't hear (but they probably can): http://audiocheck.net/audiotests_frequencycheckhigh.php

Then it's just a matter of burning a CD with a few seconds of the lowest high frequency you can't hear (if you see what I mean), put it on repeat, and crank the volume to the max.

Make sure none of your "good" neighbours will be affected though...

If there's any interest, I can give better instructions.

Re: Revenge

its a good try but would the hi-frequencies pass through the walls ? its actually hard to get hi frequency sounds through solid surfaces, as you know how easy it is to get a sub-bass sound through the walls.

Re: Revenge

This is what I meant to write in my previous post!  Could I have the further instructions please for the high pitched sound.  I've downloaded the mosquito sound from that site  but when I tried to burn it, something came up saying I ?as lacking something and it wouldn't burn.  Sounds like a good idea.

Re: Revenge

i am not going to shoot you down in flames
for sme people like me they have tried everything
i completely agree with your idea, it helps to become in control and not a victim
i am on the end of a terrace so i can make as much noise back to my enighbours wihtout inflicting noise onto others-
i dont have a stereo and dont undertsand this frequency stuff- i do have a good buffe base speakers from my computer though is this any good?
i can say- if you havent read my posts that i ahve tried every single thing that has legaly been in my power to stop the noise nuisance and this right back at ya seems to be the only things to take effect.
sometimes even police and council people dnt get involved- especially if the noise is at day time hours and can be construed as normal living noises- regardless of whether its caused by laminated flooring
s if its a civil dispute- better solve it ourselves then- like i said in my post- people son start to adjust when they are being distressed. ts alright for sme who make noise when they want AND get peace when they wnat- this is unfair

Re: Revenge

can i just add;
its a good idea when doing the right back at ya thing that you dont go over the top- dont pump over the top loud base beat through the walls as they can phone police etc and clam yo are doing it deliberate- just be a borderline nuisance that no ne can do anythng about-
If i keep my tv close to their wall its an annoyance not an over the top noise disturbance the police can ask you to turn down a huge loud base beat but they dnt have any powers to tell you to move a tv away from the wall thats on a reasonable  volume- and anyway if someone tries to phone the police with the request "can you cme out my neighbours tv is on rght next door to the wall" they wil get laughed off the phone- no ones going to come out for that but they can come out for loud base beats.
the right bac at yas thing can be borderline too- like not making noises every five seconds but do it like they do- give them a bit of eace then start up again- rattle and bang smething next to the wall and then you can put the bot in even more by saying to them, "oh sorry if you hear noise today, i am noving my childs bedroom around" and then the next day it can be "im having a clear out today so you might hear  a bit of banging around" and then the next day "Im putting some shelves up today- it will take me about six hours-so you might hear a bit of noise" get me?
same for those living next door to DIY fanatics- wait for the DIY fanatic to have their quiet time- because anyone living next door to a loud person will soon get to learn of their routine (you havent a choice) and wait for their time when they rest, like some quiet- have friends round for suday lunch and then start driling into the walls and if they complain open the door and say, "oh sorry?! was i being a nuisance- ddnt realise" so long as you keep it before 11pm and start at a reasonable time.
rght back at the inconsiderate people, who are consistently anti social, selfish and thick.

Re: Revenge

have you gone back to the drawing board?
come up with anything better?
i need a new revenge against the thudding of bare floor boards whcih are so bad i even hear a small child thud down on them- the sound goers right through the walls, as there are 3 kiods next door and they go mad for hours on end- if on a rare occaision they leave the house my mind is actually ringing witht he banging and thudding- even when they drop things ion the floor it makes a major racket.

Hi i have same problem, and this has been going on 2 years now.The male and female next door are abusive, and they know the problem, but wont do nothing about it?? infact the male knocked on my door 3 weeks ago, and called me a f*****g c**t over and over again, when i retaliated-only the 1st time this year!! its the kids running on wooden laminated floor thats the problem-it sounds like jumanji through my walls! im logging notes at mo, for enviro health at council, but fear they will say theres nowt they can do? last night i was soooo stressed, ive downloaded sound samples, of someone running on wooden floors, and doors banging, i am waiting for my revenge. we dont want too move, but fear this is our only option, but could we anyway, as we would have to disclose "noise from neighbours" ???
