We’ve lived in our home for several years and have never had problems with neighbours. A few months ago, the house next door became rented out to what was supposed to be 3 people. This signalled the end of our previously peaceful existence at home. These 3 people have sub-letted to all kinds of random people, and there is a high turnover. We never know who is living there to be honest. The noise they make at all times of day and night means we are permanently on edge. They stomp up and down the stairs, slam doors, seem to move heavy items all times of day or night, come and go at all times of day or night etc. And that’s not before their group guitar/singing ensemble became a regular feature, at all times of day or night. This was very loud, very stressful, and worst of all, we had to endure the same song sung repeatedly in a tone-deaf voices – not good. We have talked to them, we have also resorted to banging on walls (mainly when the noise is in the early hours), and following a recent more serious incident, we have discovered they are going to be served notice. fingers crossed, the next lot will be an improvement.

The worst thing about it for us has been the impact on our quality of life and peace of mind. It has a major impact, and shouldn’t be under-estimated. Similarly to some other people on here, I have not wanted to return home, and it is hard at times to feel relaxed in my own home. I am FURIOUS about this, and resent this greatly.
